UMI’s Board retained AIM to develop and implement a restructuring plan that would align the insurer’s products and services with its policyholder needs and requirements for the future.  UMI ’s owner-policyholders, as a mutual, were major Northeastern utility companies. UMI provided excess insurance, claim analyses, exposure data and case management services.  Within a year, AIM relocated UMI from high cost Manhattan to New Jersey; transitioned IT to a proven system that was tailored; achieved target operating efficiencies and organizational structure; aligned governance and strategy with policyholder needs and services. Directed to hire a new president, AIM conducted a thorough search retaining the new president within five months and managed UMI in the interim.
